ABOUT ABOUT

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has released its annual statistics showing an increase in the total number of charges filed against employers during its most recent fiscal year. The EEOC’s fiscal year ended September 30, 2011. According to the report, the Agency received 99,947 charges of employment discrimination during FY11, compared with 99,922 charges in FY10.

Mix It Up Lunch Day@Fox is an informal conversation over lunch that encourages business students to identify, question, cross social boundaries, gain confidence, and become more employable. It will be held at Temple University, Fox School of Business, Alter Hall, Undergraduate Commons (“the Egg”) on October 30, 2012 from 12:00 PM – 12:50 PM. The event is open to the public at no charge. All that is required is to bring your own lunch and an open mind. The Fox School of Business, Department of Human Resource Management (HRM) is sponsoring this event.

Being the brightest in the class is not a guarantee to being hired. The odds are significant students will be interviewed and managed by diverse global citizens. Mix it Up is a highly participatory, hands-on experience facilitated by Fox students/HRM majors for and with their peers. Mix It Up Lunch Day@Fox offers just-in-time learning and skills required by culturally competent organizations before the critical first job interview.
